2024 DIVISION 1 TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIPS

OVERVIEW

2024 DIVISION 1 TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIPS

There was an air of familiarity about this year’s GISSA Tennis Championships Division One – the venue, the weather, the level of play.

It was all at an excellent standard and, fortunately for Christian College Geelong, the end result also had a familiar ring to it.

The CCG Eagles have won the last three Division One Championships – and six of the last seven Titles – and the boys in maroon didn’t disappoint in 2024, claiming the trophy again in the triangular series that also included Kardinia International College (KIC) and St Ignatius College (SIC).

CCG didn’t have it all their own way, though, with KIC pushing the Eagles all the way, to the point where just one set and 12 games separated the two Schools – a close margin in the context of the 276 games that were played, across a mixture of singles and doubles, by the three, 8-player teams.

There is more Tennis to come, too, with the GISSA Tennis Championships – Division 2 Event set to be staged on Friday, March 1 at Geelong Lawn Tennis Club.

GISSA would like to say a big thank you to everyone from Geelong Lawn Tennis Club for hosting these two Events at their magnificent Venue. The students at our Member Schools are very lucky to have your support – and we all appreciate it very much.

Please below for the Final Standings of this year’s GISSA Tennis Championships – Division One.
