2025 CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS

KARDINIA COMPLETES MAJOR TITLE GRAND SLAM

Kardinia International College has made it three from three at this year’s GISSA Major Titles.

Looking for a clean sweep after victories at the Swimming and Athletics Championships, Kardinia completed the ‘grand slam’ by winning the 2025 Cross Country Event at Barwon Valley Fun Park.

In glorious conditions, students from all Member Schools competed in either 3.5kms (Year 7 to Year 9) or 4.5kms (Year 10 to Year 12) Events, running laps of the ‘Figure 8’ circuit at Barwon Valley.  

Students who crossed under the familiar inflatable Finish Line used by ‘Tomato Timing’ in the top three places for each Event – 13 Years Male + Female, 14 Years Male + Female, 15 Years Male + Female, 16 Years Male + Female and 20 Years Male + Female – all received a Gold, Silver or Bronze Medal.

There was also a team aspect to the day, with five different ‘Age Level Pennants’ up for grabs – Junior Male and Junior Female Divisions (decided by combined results from the 13, 14 and 15 Years Races) and the Senior Male and Senior Female Divisions (decided by the results from the 16 Years and 20 Years Races).   

That was in addition to the ‘Overall Champions’ Shield that Kardinia claimed again in 2025.
