2024 SENIOR BOYS AFL CHAMPIONSHIPS
Footy Season is here!
The excitement level for the 2024 GISSA AFL season is higher than ever before, as the Senior BOYS Championships move into a whole new era.
For the first time ever, GISSA will deliver a football ‘season’ for its students, with Teams entering the Division One competition set to play four games each across Term 2 and Term 3.
That adds up to ten full-length, four-quarter matches played at multiple venues for the Year 10 to Year 12 students who will participate, with each College playing two home and two aways matches each.
Matches will mostly be played in the afternoon, somewhere between and 1pm and 4pm, with GISSA providing independent umpires and trainers.
The Schools who will enter this new world for GISSA will be Christian College Geelong, Covenant College, Kardinia International College and St Ignatius College Geelong.
This page will be updated with the Results for each Match as they are completed, so make sure you keep returning here to check out the latest news and see which teams are on track to advance to this year’s GISSA Senior Male AFL Grand Final coming up in Term 3.
As in previous years, the winner of this year’s Male AFL Division One Championships will go on to represent GISSA in Division 2 of the AFL Victoria ‘Herald Sun Shield’, where they will take on Schools from other schools around the state in a one-day Carnival in Melbourne.
Christian College Geelong has won the last two GISSA Senior Male AFL Championships in Division One, and last year the CCG Eagles reached the Grand Final of the AFL Victoria Herald Sun Shield.
